Ultimate Negotiation is the most decisive and conclusive way to negotiate high value business deals. It is based on the bundle of special skills and methods used by genuinely effective negotiators and effective negotiating teams, specifically and skillfully put together in a working plan for each negotiation. This ultimate level of skill builds partly on what, as individual negotiators, we know are our strengths, on what we have learnt from the many role models, mentors, seniors, we have encountered and studied, and on the many lessons we have learnt from our past mistakes.
So Ultimate Negotiation cannot be learnt simply from a textbook. Experience needs to be a huge teacher for us. Moreover, without the ˇ°rightˇ± innate or acquired skills (that I explain further below and are detailed in Workshop Two), some methods of negotiation may be devised here and there, but Ultimate Negotiation is unlikely to blossom in your team without special people, without a special attitude to learning from experience, without special skills, or without a special corporate environment.
